What is Mink Hair Extensions?
Have you heard about the Mink Hair craze?
“OMG, my mink hair weave is so amazing.”
I will explain to you why everyone is getting so excited. This includes Brazilian Mink Hair, Peruvian Mink Hair, Malaysian Mink Hair, and any other place on a map you can drop a pin.
Mink Hair Weave is 100% Marketing.
Pump the breaks. WHAT!!!
No seriously, it’s just a name that everyone got excited about, and hair companies are running with it. Can you blame them?
Before we get our hair in tangles and teary eyed let’s take a closer look at mink hair.
Mink Hair Facts
Technically, you could call any hair you sell “Mink Hair,” but in general it tends to be a higher quality hair extension.
If you do some research, other hair companies will say their mink hair is “thicker,” “remy hair,” “single donor hair,” or about anything else they can come up with to justify the price increase.
Marketing is a huge part of selling hair extensions. Going with the trend of saying you have “Mink Hair” would be consistent with the market.
We could easily say our Brazilian Body Wave hair extensions are mink hair weave. This hair colors very well, the bundles are full, cuticles are facing the same direction to reduce tangling, double stitch wefts to reduce shedding, and everything else you would expect from a quality hair extension.
There is no true classification for “Mink Hair” so at this point it really can be anything you want it to be.
Just being honest.
We did a Google search for “What is Mink Hair Weave?” and this was the result.
Interesting but not necessarily correct.
Mink Fur & the Mink Animal
Where does mink hair come from?
There are real mink hairs, and mink fur from an animal called a Mink.
If you want to find out what exactly a Mink looks like you can head over to this reference: Mink – Wikipedia
The color of the Mink’s hair is dark brown and silky. This is a characteristic found in the marketing of Mink hair extensions.
You will also notice the hair on a Mink is very short. Perfect for a set of 3D Mink Lashes but not so much if you are trying to make hair extensions out of the hair.
Common Mink Hair Questions
Let’s go over some of the common questions our team gets asked related to Mink Hair.
Where can I find Mink Hair reviews?
Good question. Mink hair reviews are just like a regular hair review. The only difference is the seller of the weave decided to call it mink hair weave instead of Brazilian. You should focus on just finding great hair extensions instead of something called mink.
Who are the best Brazilian mink hair vendors?
Well, if you are looking for the best hair vendor for hair extensions then look no further than Krush Beauty LLC. Yes, we could be a little biased. We specialize in offering different levels of wholesale weave that you could brand as “Mink Hair” if you choose.
We are not sure how long the mink hair fad will be in play but it will probably be around for a while.
Do you sell Mink Brazilian curly hair?
I would suggest you check out our kinky curly extensions. Throw a new tag on it and you will be in curly mink hair heaven.
Do you have any Mink hair coupons?
We occasionally give out coupons for our hair extensions. We also occasionally put some products on sale. The best thing to do is make your first purchase with us and see what special offers you get for being a customer!
Questions you should ask when buying hair extensions are:
- How do the hair extensions color?
- Is the hair Remy with the cuticles facing the same direction?
- Is this 100% human hair?
- What is the weft construction? Double stitch?
- How much do the bundles weigh? The standard is around 100 grams.
If Krush Beauty LLC were going to answer these questions regarding their hair extensions, we would say…
We offer 100% human hair extensions with double stitch wefts to reduce shedding. All the bundles are a standard weight of 100 grams. The hair has the cuticles facing in the right direction so it will not tangle. Our Vietnamese and Brazilian hair can be professionally colored to a #613 Russian Blonde while the less expensive Malaysian Hair can color to a #27 Honey Blonde.
This “Mink” marketing technique is similar to how we all give hair extensions a number grade like 7A, 8A, 9A and so on. Have you ever noticed that every year everyone increases the number of their “A” hair to stay competitive? When I first got started in the hair industry, a 5A was considered great hair. Now we see vendors marketing hair in the double digits.
Has the quality of the hair changed? Nope. It’s just marketing!
